Patient Name: Jax
Brief History of Pet
We lived in Northern Michigan, got Jax from a local breeder in April 2010 when he was 12 weeks old. He fit into a shoe box for his first car ride home. Jax was part of a litter of 9. His mom was a champion frisbee catcher Golden Retriever (Jax would never catch a frisbee or even play fetch more than twice), his dad was a black standard poodle.
Why VSMR?
We researched several rehab centers recommended by VSC when Jax started to have weakness and difficulty controlling in his back legs due to two fused disks in his spine. We chose VSMRHG because they provide most comprehensive & diverse services, evaluation, and care/customization for each pet treated.
How VSMR has helped:
Jax has gotten stronger and more energetic, enabling him to do 30-90 minutes walks 3X/day. VSMRHG has provided personalized care with each visit, customizing his treatment with changes in Jax health. Jax would not be able as functional as he is today without the VSMRHG treatment team – thank you very much!
Additional Information
Jax grew up in Northern Michigan loving the outdoors.
In Winter Jax would run alongside me cross country skiing, go sledding with my boys, and his favorite was laying on top of snow hill in our backyard for hours even if it was snowing!
In summer, Jax would run alongside me riding my bike, play king of the hill with my boys, swim in the bay alongside me paddle boarding, and enjoy being captain of my paddle board for a rest between swims.
Jax is coming up on his 16th birthday in February!
